Yerevan is one of the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. This year, it will celebrate its 2800th birthday.

Yerevan was founded 29 years earlier than Rome and has about the same age as Babylon. During centuries, the town stayed firm though it underwent many trials and tribulations.

Science & Technology in Yerevan

The growth of the present day High Tech industries in Armenia can be traced back to the Soviet era during which time Armenia was a key science, R&D, and High-Tech manufacturing center of the Soviet Union. Some of the first Soviet mainframe computers – Nairi and Razdan – were designed and manufactured here.
